The Gateway plugs into a standard 110V outlet and serves as the primary device for power monitoring. For optimal performance, we recommend plugging the Gateway into the same power source as the ventilation controller. A version with a UL-certified 5V external power supply is also available for use in Canada.
Each Gateway is equipped with two internal dry contact circuits, commonly used to connect to additional power sources and subpanels, as well as ventilation controllers, generators, auger motors, water pressure switches, and other equipment.
Once powered on, the Gateway automatically connects to the strongest available local cellular tower, regardless of carrier, and sends alerts via push notification, SMS text message, or phone call based on user preferences. In addition to built-in cellular connectivity, the Gateway creates a local wireless LoRa network capable of extending through buildings and walls, allowing up to 24 wireless sensors to connect to each Gateway within an approximate 1,200-foot range.
For multi-barn operations, we typically recommend installing one Gateway for every two buildings. The Gateway and sensors can typically be installed in 30 minutes.
