1948 Allbon 2.8cc model plane diesel engine, see test run video.
Selling for my Dad, this 1948 MkII Allbon 2.8cc diesel engine was bought by my Grandad back in 1948 direct from the factory which was local to my Grandparents back then. The label attached to this engine stated: early MkII Allbon 2.8 for testing.

This Allbon has superb huge compression, it was quite evident from the few test runs that this engine has seen virtually no running and will require a running in process of short runs and allowed to cool down between runs until it holds it's rpm without sagging. I did find the contra piston is tight, I would imagine it needs a clean due to sitting around for around 78 year's not doing anything, but I do not strip engine's, that's a decision for the next owner to make.
The NVA assembly was probably swapped out by my Grandad for the one fitted to suit a model with a remote fuel tank fitted. It is what it is, a classic British made engine rapidly approaching 80 year's old and still starts easily and runs. You don't often see these early Allbon engine's especially these first Allbon 2.8cc engine's as they were produced for less than two year's from 1948 to 1949 and I have not seen many being test run either (Adrian Duncan has run his MkI and MkII version's, but no video's of them running). There is no damage to the mounting lugs and none of the strengthening webs are missing and theol mounting holes are not broken out or cracked. This engine has not been stripped or cleaned, it has it's 78 year's of patina still present, but it's still incredibly clean.
