Up for sale is an antique Loewe & Co. bulldog-shape estate pipe with a diamond-profile shank and a carved double-line accent ring around the bowl.

Features & Markings:

The Silver Band: Stamped with British sterling silver hallmarks, including the "LB" sponsor's mark (Louis Blumfeld / Loewe & Co.), the Lion Passant (solid .925 sterling silver), and the Leopard's Head (London Assay Office).

The Stem: Crafted from genuine natural horn, showing a distinct translucent light-to-dark color transition and natural vertical grain.

Condition:

This pipe is being sold in unpolished, "as-found" estate condition.

Bowl/Wood: The exterior wood shows a rich vintage patina with no cracks. The interior chamber shows signs of use with a stable layer of carbon cake and minor darkening/charring along the inside lip of the rim (please see close-up photos). There is one part of the rim that seems to show more wear and is indented.

Stem: Solid; there are some wear marks on the edge, but it doesn’t appear overly “chewed”. There is light, natural, age-appropriate oxidation on the surface of the horn (visible as a faint whitish film), which can be polished out by the buyer if desired.
