Jørgen Rantzau (20th Century) Danish painter born in the coastal town of Skagen, Denmark. He made his artistic debut in Copenhagen in 1940 and quickly gained recognition for his expressionistic landscapes, often inspired by the dramatic natural scenery of Norway, where he spent time working and traveling. Over the course of his career, Rantzau evolved artistically, moving away from figurative forms and embracing nonfigurative expression. His later works are marked by bold compositions, geometric structures, and a distinctive use of color, placing him within the lineage of mid-century European abstract art.
