- The overall image size is 56 x 38.3 cm [22 in. x 15 in."]. Longitude is measured from Greenwich and Washington, and it is dated 1867 in the lower margin by A.J. Johnson, New York.
- The upper panel is titled "Johnson's Turkey in Asia," and includes Asia Minor, Mesopotamia, Syria, Constantinople, Armenia, Aleppo, Damascus, Gaza, and Palestine.
- The lower panel is titled "Johnson's Persia, Arabia, Beloochistan, and Afghanistan," and includes the Red Sea, Mecca, Medina, Mocha, Yemen, the Persian Gulf, Kandahar, Tehran, Mosul, and the Sinai Peninsula.
