Offered here is a Victorian mantle or capelet that is beaded and has a high collar. The original metal hammered hooks and eyes remain all intact. The scrolling beadwork that covers the piece is lovely and reminiscent of the detailed elaborateness of the period when beauty and craftsmanship were available to the wealthy. Beading hangs from the edges to drape upon the arms of the wearer. It is 21” long.

There is wear to this approximate 150 year old beaded piece which are becoming increasingly hard to find. There are some splits in the fabric and beading, and the silk lining has fallen away— but the presence to this piece is wonderful!!! It is definitely a statement piece for display. If worn, it would be with great care.
