Rare 9ct gold Scottish football medal from 1894, representing the first trophy won by Ayr Parkhouse FC which would become Ayr United FC in 1910.
The front of the medal has a raised shield which is engraved:
"AYR CHARITY CUP 1894"
The obverse is engraved:
"WON BY J. BAIRD A.P.F.C." (Ayr Parkhouse Football Club)
The Ayr Charity Cup was a knockout football competition for clubs based in Ayrshire and ran from 1884 - 85 to 1951 - 52. Ayr Parkhouse won the competition 7 times between 1893 - 94 (the medal for sale) & 1905 - 06.
Included with the medalis a printout of the Wikipedia page relating to Ayr Parkhouse FC which confirms the club won the Ayr Charity Cup in the season 1893 - 94.

Ayr Parkhouse FC: Were a football club based in the town of Ayr, Scotland. They were formed in 1886 and in 1891 joined the Ayrshire Football League before moving to the Ayrshire Football Combination in 1893. Ayr Parkhouse had decided to remain a faithfully amateur club and only turned professional in 1905.
They were admitted to the Scottish Football League in 1897 and achieved full league status in 1903. At the end of the 1909 - 10 season, Ayr Parkhouse and Ayr merged to form Ayr United which thrive to this day, currently playing in the Scottish Championship, the second tier of the Scottish football league system.
Summary: As can be seen from the photos & history (above) this is a rare medal from the early days of football in Aryshire, the first medal won by Ayr Parkhouse FC. Good luck!
