This is a very rare Macon, Georgia 10 Cents Note, issued on March 16, 1863, at the peak of the Civil War. It promises to pay the holder in Confederate Treasury Notes at 4 percent interest if given 30 days notice. A little girl holding a flower is the image on the right side, lower. It is in good condition for a item used often (the smaller denomination notes were obviously most widely used). This note is displayed in a plastic transparent holder and will be shipped in same for its protection and possible future display.
It is rare because:
1. it is a small 10 cent denomination still in good condition despite extensive use;
2. it was printed on poor paper at the time;
3. it lacks the engraver's name; and
4. it is from the Macon Savings Bank, not one of the majority Georgia notes which were issued in the state capital, Milledgeville, Ga. with January 1st 1863 dates.
Please also note that I have other CSA - $$$ notes on eBay or to be posted.
