Jan Pieńkowski was a Polish-born British author illustrator & designer. He is known for his pioneering pop-up children's books. His art often incorporated psychedelic elements through the use of vibrant kaleidoscopic colors & otherworldly surreal effects. He also collaborated with the publishers Price/Stern/Sloan to produce a line of greeting cards, blending playful humor with mind-bending visuals. His style was deeply influenced by Wycinanki the Polish folk art of papercutting, which contributed to his use of bold contrasting colors & geometric precision.

This deadstock vintage 1980's card is 1 of a series (see other listings). It is a giant gorilla head whose snout closes in a decidedly toothy underbite pop-up as you open the card. The message is "You Bring Out The ANIMAL In Me..."
