Jan Pieńkowski was a Polish-born British author illustrator & designer. He is known for his pioneering pop-up children's books. His psychedelic art has vibrant kaleidoscopic colors & otherworldly surreal effects. He also collaborated with the publishers Price/Stern/Sloan to produce a line of greeting cards blending playful humor with mind-bending visuals. His style was deeply influenced by Wycinanki the Polish folk art of papercutting, which contributed to his use of bold contrasting colors & geometric precision.
