Military Medal Lot
WW1 1914 Star Trio with Copy Date Bar and Memorial Scroll – to 53829 Gnr J. Moores R.F.A.
We have a great military collectible — an outstanding First World War medal and memorial group dedicated to Gunner Joseph Moores, Royal Field Artillery (R.F.A.).
This 1914 Star trio includes a copy date bar and a memorial scroll named to Gnr J. Moores R.F.A. (scroll reads Gunner Joseph Moores R.F.A.). The medals and items are beautifully mounted in a glass-fronted display case, alongside a cap badge, photograph, and two sleeve badges, creating a powerful tribute to this fallen soldier.
The scroll has been cut down slightly and mounted on card, and the set includes a reproduction mini memorial plaque engraved to Joseph Moores, along with copied CWGC, Medal Index Card, and Soldiers Died records.
Joseph Moores landed in France on 19th August 1914 with the 42nd Brigade, R.F.A., and was killed in action with the 45th Battery on 6th April 1917. He is buried in Faubourg D’Amiens Cemetery, France.
This is a truly moving and display-ready WW1 set, representing the sacrifice of an early war artilleryman from Manchester.
