For sale is an original Jewish family photograph album containing approximately 116 original photographs dating from the late 1920s through the 1930s. An exceptional interwar European family archive documenting Jewish middle-class life across Central and Eastern Europe before WWII, with later photograph connected to Haifa.

The album contains a fascinating mixture of informal snapshots and formal studio portraits showing family gatherings, elegant couples, children, holidays, swimming scenes, domestic interiors, shared meals, outdoor excursions, and a number of medical and laboratory related photographs. Some images retain handwritten captions in German and Hebrew.

Locations and references appearing throughout the album include Czernowitz / Cernăuți in Bukovina, Germany, Koblenz, Gelsenkirchen, Haifa, Paris & more. The photographs beautifully capture the atmosphere of educated Jewish bourgeois life in interwar Europe shortly before the upheavals of WWII and the migration of part of the family to Palestine/Israel.
