The Cuban Poster gallery is thrilled to offer this authentic 2026 Cuban Pop Art painting, a whimsical depiction of a Wild West-style saloon with an all-star cast -- the Beatles (John, Paul, George and Ringo), Frida Kahlo, Betty Boop and (starring as the bartender) Charlie Chaplin.
This Cuban painting is especially remarkable because in the 1960s (the early years of the revolution) the island's communist government banned the music of The Beatles and other rock stars, deeming them symbols of capitalism and imperialism. Even so, many Cubans adored the Beatles and quietly listened to their music on the U.S. radio stations they could easily pick up from across the Florida Straits.
The Cuban government lifted its rock music ban in the 1970s, and today there's a park in Havana named after John Lennon and a nearby music club named after a Beatles' hit, El Submarino Amarillo (The Yellow Submarine).

For this fantastical painting, Juan Manuel Hernández Fuentes assembled a group of international pop culture icons, drinking rum and playing cards at a Wild West-style saloon.
Front and center are the Beatles: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. They are joined in the saloon by the legendary Mexican painter Frida Kahlo and the beloved American cartoon character Betty Boop.
