An original Ichiko 1959 Buick convertible in its original red litho finish. This is the large 11-inch version featuring the "barking dog" mechanism.
Condition Details: Body & Finish: The car is in its original red litho finish. It shows numerous small paint chips, dings, and surface scratches throughout, consistent with age and play. Brightwork: A strong point of this car is the silver-tone trim, bumpers, and hood ornament, which have remained quite clean and show much less oxidation than typical for this vintage. Windshield: The plastic windshield is original and fully intact, showing only minor surface scratching. Barking Dog Mechanism: While the plastic dog figure is NO LONGER PRESENT, the internal mechanism is fully functional. The metal mounting post moves continuously left to right to left as the car rolls. Friction Motor: The motor is functional but weak; it requires a firm rev to propel the car.
