A rare and highly collectible 1950s tin lithograph Packard friction car, manufactured in Hungary by Lemezárugyár (License plate CA–37–26). This piece features a striking red body with a white roof and is a must-have for collectors of Cold War-era or Eastern European toys.
Condition Details:
* Windows: Exceptional for its age. Includes the original clear plastic windows. The windshield and wing windows are firm and intact. Rear windows are present and clear, with one minor crack and a very small hole in one corner. Since I know intact windows are a major selling feature on this car, I've included several photos showing where the windows are not fully intact as indicated by the toothpick pointers. The front windshield is especially nice, fully intact and virtually scratch free. The back windows are also fully intact but there is that one very small hole indicated.
* Body & Paint: The original lithographed paint maintains a nice gloss with only minor surface scratching. No major dents or structural damage.
* Mechanism: The friction motor is currently non-functional (does not propel when pushed).
* Trim & Hardware: Features original golden-colored hubcaps. All chrome-style trim (grill, bumpers, headlights, and side strips) shows a natural aged patina/oxidation consistent with its age.
* Overall: An excellent display piece that has been well-preserved. Please see all photos for a close-up look at the patina and window details. The car has some light intermittent friction capabilities, but not enough to drive the car forward. It feels like it might have a realistic possibility of repairing that.
