The 1983 Context
While the ZX Spectrum+ debuted in late 1984, the year 1983 was a massive year for the original "rubber-key" Spectrum. It was the absolute peak of the initial boom, seeing the release of the 48K model, the introduction of the Interface 1 (allowing networking and floppy drives), and the start of the golden age for Spectrum video games and bedroom coders.
