Offered for sale is a rather sad example of a 1930s Swan Minor (SM100/30) "Self Filling" Fountain Pen made in England by Mabie Todd & Co. Ltd.
This is a modest pen measuring 125 mm long and 12.2 mm in diameter over the cap. The cap has oxidised quite badly which, initially, made me think that it could have been a mismatch but it is a perfect fit! Possibly the cap could be restored and polished? The hard rubber lever has also suffered some oxidisation to a lesser extent. We have not dismantled or attempted to service this pen - it is likely that the ink sac has leaked or perished and the pressure bar may be corroded. The redeeming feature of this pen is the Swan No.1, 14 Carat, gold nib and feed which is why we have set the price at £20 to deter those who just want the nib to melt down for scrap. Genuine pen enthusiasts who are looking for spares or a pen to restore are welcome to make a reasonable offer.
