Up for bid is this lot of 13 vintage medicine sample vials made of clear glass with plastic snap on lids. Each measures 1.5" high. Seven have the labels peeled off, but four have the original labels which carry the date February 1963, making these true vintage pieces of medicinal history!
They originally carried 8 tablets of Prostaphlin, a high potency antibiotic produced by Bristol Laboratories of Syracuse, New York, a division of Bristol-Meyers. Interestingly, today this drug is administered intervenously or as an injectable. The tablets were discontinued 10-15 years ago due to poor absorption compared to more modern antibiotics.
This lot is perfect for collectors, but is very handy for those who produce their own herbal tinctures or salves, or who just want to store & display tiny items like beads. So many possibilities!
Good Luck and Happy Bidding
