Here are
three rare and fun roller skating rink
patches from the 1940's or 50's. This listing is for the same roller skating rink, but has different designs and/or colors. The two yellow
patches are one more orangish and one simply yellow. They
are:
- Krystal
Bell Roller Rink: Marshalltown, IA. The design is shaped like a shield and features a winged skate. Blue and white in color.
"Where Good Skaters Meet." The front
has a velour/felt feel, and the
back appears to be made of canvas.
The entire patch is stiff. Measures
6" x 4.5"

NOTE: Several
years ago, here in Albuquerque at a
local auction house, I bought a metal
box for storing roller skates. Inside
this box were all the stickers and
patches that I am currently selling.
At the bottom, I discovered a bunch of
envelopes that were mailed in the
1950's. From these, I was able to
glean that these collections of
patches and stickers belonged to
Kenneth Scott of Marshalltown, Iowa.
Judging by the multiple Krystal Bell
Roller Rink items both in the box and affixed to it, Mr. Scott was
associated with this particular roller
skating rink.
Condition:
They are all used items that are in
very good condition. There
are more photos in the photo gallery
that you can zoom in on and examine carefully.
#1 has the
front lightly soiled. The back has
some staining as well. The
entire patch is wrinkled and does not
lie perfectly flat. There is damage to
the bottom left corner and visible
creases on the back.
#2 has
the front lightly soiled, and the two
bottom corners are bent. In the
upper left corner, there is a tear in
the material that does not go all
the way through. The back has some
light soiling.
#3
has the front lightly soiled. The
back has light soiling. The bottom
right area has a crease. The bottom
corners are clearly bumped, as well
as the upper right corner. The
entire patch does not lie flat.
All
items come from my personal
collections.
This
is a non-smoking home.
Photos
are of the actual items.
