Authentic WWII-style directional street sign, inspired by original U.S. and Allied military signage used during World War II.
Collector’s Note:
Sainte-Mère-Église was one of the first towns liberated during the D-Day invasion on June 6, 1944. Captured by American paratroopers of the U.S. 82nd Airborne Division in the early hours of Operation Overlord, the town became a critical foothold for Allied forces advancing inland from the Normandy beaches. Sainte-Mère-Église is especially remembered for the intense airborne assault and the story of paratrooper John Steele, whose parachute became caught on the church steeple during the battle. Today, the town remains one of the most iconic symbols of the liberation of France during World War II.
