This authentic maritime uniform button belonged to the Puget Sound Navigation Company, famously known as the Black Ball Line. The PSNC was the dominant force in the "Mosquito Fleet," providing essential passenger and freight service across the Puget Sound in Washington State during the early 1900s.

The face of the button features a classic fouled anchor design, flanked by the letters "PS" and "SC". This specific insignia was worn by officers and crew during the golden age of steamship travel in the Pacific Northwest.


Manufacturer Details

The reverse of the button features a crisp backmark for the B. Pasquale Co. of San Francisco, California. Pasquale was a premier West Coast outfitter for military and maritime uniforms. Based on the hallmark and construction, this piece dates to approximately 1900–1920.
