MEMORY SUPPORT

These memory modules can be added to your existing RDimm setup, however when installed the Memory controller within the machine will run your old rams at 2666MHz rather than 2933MHz, this is because the memory controller recognizes that the new memory is 2666MHz and will clock all the memory to that speed.

In day-to-day work, the performance difference between 2666MHz and 2933MHz memory modules in a 2019 Mac Pro is negligible for most users. You effectively lose about 10% of raw memory bandwidth, but this rarely translates into a noticeable slowdown in real-world tasks

MEMORY TYPE

Your system supports ECC Registered RDimms as we ECC Registered Load Reduced LRDimms.

Configuration: Must be either Registered (R-DIMM) or Load-Reduced (LR-DIMM). You cannot mix R-DIMMs and LR-DIMMs in the same system.

LRDimms are usally found in the larger 128GB modules size.

MEMORY SPEED

The memory speed on these modules is 2666Mhz

The 8 Core 3.5Ghz version natively runs at that speed, all other model runs at 2933Mhz

12-Core to 28-Core Processors: These models natively support up to 2933MHz. If you install 2666MHz modules in these systems, the entire memory bus will downclock to 2666MHz to match the slowest module.
