Original one-cent light orange imperforate stamp printed by Thomas De La Rue & Co., Ltd., London, England, for the Confederate States of America, circa 1862.

• The stamp measures 2.5 x 2 cm [1 in. x ¾ in.] and was designed and engraved by Jean Ferdinand Joubert De La Ferté.



• It is from the original electrotyped and flat-bed printed pane that was delivered to the main Post Office Department of the Confederate States of America in Richmond, Virginia, but never issued.



• It is identified in the Scott Catalogue as CSA 14.
