Offered for sale is a vintage1930s Hamilton 'Heyward' 10K GF 17J Cal. 987A manual wind watch for restoration or for parts. This is one of a number of vintage watches that were part of a retired watch technicians inventory of watches and watch parts, acquired a number of years ago, that I have begun listing here on eBay.

There were a number of watch models that Hamilton chose to produce for only a single year throughout their history, and the Clyde was one of those, having been produced for only one year in 1951; as such, it's one of the less common models from this era.

Mechanically, this watch is not currently in proper running condition, in that the crown is not able to be wound - a visual inspection of the 17J Cal. 747 movement shows it to be clean and without any signs of corrosion.  Some level of servicing/repair will be necessary to return this watch to proper time keeping condition.

Cosmetically, the 25.5mm diameter 10K gold filled case is in nice overall condition - while there are signs of normal wear in the form of small scratches and marks on the case, there is no wear through of the gold filled finish anywhere, including on the high points and the rear surfaces of the lugs, and the case has retained sharp lines and edge throughout (please review the photographs for the best representation of the watch's physical condition.)  The gold filled case back has a professionally engraved set of cursive initials, along with one larger scratch.  The dial has developed significant patina and show signs of aging, but the solid 18K gold hour markers are all present.  The crystal is quite clear and is without cracks, but does show some wear upon close inspection; the crown is in nice, clean condition.  The primary cosmetic issue is the lack of a complete hand set - while the minute hand is present, the hour and seconds hands are not.

The watch is mounted on a same tan genuine leather watch band on which it was found, and will fit a wrist of up to approximately 7 1/4" in size in this configuration.

Lots of good here for the Hamilton watch collector, either as a project of its own or as a rich source of parts to use in other Hamilton restoration projects.

Please review all of the photographs, as they comprise the most important part of the item description.  If you have any questions about the item, please ask before bidding; there are no returns on this lot (unless it's not as described in some way.)

All international sales will ship via eBay's Global Shipping Program, no exceptions.

We will combine shipping where possible - please request an invoice or send a note once your bidding for the day is complete.
