A beautiful antique (1921 -1934) Pyrex Glass casserole dish in a silver plated stand. The dish was made by James A Jobling at the Wear Flint Glassworks in Sunderland England . Both the base and the lid of the dish are marked with the JP Monogram. The dish has the JP Monogram within a circle accompanied by the phrase Pyrex Made In England. The dish is 21cm (8.3“) in length and 15.7cm (6.2“) wide at the widest point. Without the lid the dish is 7.7cm (3“) tall. With the lid on it is 13.8cm (5.4“) tall. When the dish with the lid on is in the stand it is 16cm (6.3“) tall. The dish and lid are both in very good antique condition. There is a small straw mark in the base of the dish and some very small bubbles in the glass. There are no chips , cracks or nibbles in either the dish or the lid. The glass also has a yellowish tint. This is because this glass was made using borosilicate. This is considered safe and is used today in high quality kitchenware, laboratory equipment and medical applications. The dish sits in a Silver Plated stand that has a handle at each end. It is decorated with a pierced pattern. The stand is 8.6cm (3.4“) tall, 26.6cm (10.5“) in length (handle to handle) and 15cm (5.9“) wide at the widest point. The stand is supported by four ball feet. The stand is stamped EPNS with a three leaf design and the number 4L08D. The Silver Plate has some wear but is still very presentable.
