It comes with an original handwritten letter from the veteran to Mr. Hughes confirming the authenticity / provenance and a COPY of the letter of authenticity that Mr. Hughes wrote to me. The original goes with the bullion patch, which is from a different veteran. (See my other listings)

This is the exact cotton patch pictured on Les Hughes’s reference insigne 509th page. So it is THE textbook example of this patch. You can find no better ironclad example of this rare patch.
