Arthur George "Art" Sieving was an American wood carver, sculptor, magician, and ventriloquist from Springfield, Illinois, known for his richly detailed carved works and dioramas. He produced a wide range of artistic, from architectural carvings and clocks to ventriloquist figures, and often worked in wood and relief styles. At the time of his death, he was engaged in creating diorama displays for the Long Nine Museum in Athens, Illinois, and his work included historically themed plaques (such as an Abraham Lincoln tomb plaque) and miniature figures. Sieving’s craftsmanship and diverse artistic pursuits reflect a lifetime dedicated to hand‑carved sculpture and imaginative, representational art.

These rare chalkware statues depict Tom Sawyer, Huckleberry Finn, and Becky Thatcher, the adventurous, beloved characters from Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and related stories. The two boys stand approximately 12" tall, and Becky is an inch shorter. While occasional individual figures can still be found, it's significantly rarer to find the complete set with no major damage. (As detailed in the Condition Description, there's only a bit of normal wear.) Due to the size of the package required to ship them, I'll absorb the cost myself.

Pricing
Most items I sell are set to Buy It Now, but priced based on the market and sometimes still open to negotiation. Please do not send overly low offers, as I often list my items similar to or even lower than others. In most cases I simply will not respond. Unlike many sellers on eBay, I spend a great deal of time providing professional listings with thoughtful descriptions, very prompt and careful shipping, and responsive communication. Please take this into consideration when comparing my pricing to that of others.

Shipping
Every item is weighed beforehand and entered into eBay's automatic shipping calculator, which generates the shipping quote based on the provider, your location, the weight and (when applicable for larger items due to volumetric weight) the box size. All carriers continue to increase rates on a steady basis; this is outside the control of eBay sellers. Note that any item that specifies free shipping applies only to the United States. eBay's international shipping program automatically calculates a quote for international buyers from its shipping hub to each buyer's overseas location.

In general I ship the same day or next day when purchases are made, including on Saturdays, and they're all assigned valid tracking numbers through eBay's system. All items are packaged carefully with sufficient protection to ensure they reach you safely. Any items that exceed $100 in value, with a few exceptions, will be covered by additional insurance in the full sale amount at no cost to the buyer.

Returns
Returns are accepted within 30 days following the date of purchase. In cases in which an item does not match the description or does not work as stated, a full refund will be issued, including the original and return shipping costs. However, in cases in which you wish to return an item for other reasons, or if an item was listed "as is" in the description, note that only the purchase cost will be refunded. The original shipping cost and the return shipping cost will be the responsibility of the buyer.
