For your consideration is this NEVER BEEN USED in the original box, new old stock, vintage 2008 Harris County TX Sheriff Tommy Thomas laser custom engraved genuine wood twist-barrel BLUE ink cartridge pen with custom engraved wood base and quartz movement combination clock desk set. This combination pen desk/clock set was presented to supporters of Harris County Sheriff Tommy Thomas as a token of his appreciation for their support during his 2008 re-election campaign.
Note; full disclosure, because the desk set is 18 years old, the original factory button battery that came in the clock had long since expired. To that end, I recently purchased a package of (5) five brand new SR626SW button batteries ($5.00 value) and installed (1) one of the (5) five in order to test and confirm the functionality of the quartz clock. As can be verified in the description video, the clock movement is working perfectly and is maintaining correct time. Refer to the description video for verification. For reference, the correct time was set at 1:50pm CST as of Friday, January 29, 2026. Note; the remaining (4) FOUR NEW extra BATTERIES are INCLUDED in this listing as clearly depicted in description photo #24.
This desk set is NEW OLD STOCK and remains in excellent unused condition. I chose to list this piece as being used only because of its age and because I had removed the desk set from its original box for the first time in order to photograph it in preparation of this listing and to install the aforementioned new replacement battery. The fact is; this desk set is in excellent unused condition as it has remained safely stored inside the factory bubble wrap and protected inside the original yellow cardboard factory box since it was received nearly 20 years ago. Refer to description photos #17 and #23 for more details about the original packaging and box.
The twist-barrel of the ink pen, base and stand for the quartz clock are all crafted out of genuine polished solid wood. The base where the clock stand and ink pen rest measures approximately 6.75” long, 3.25” wide and 1.0” thick. The fitted clock stand measures approximately 1.75” wide and 3.0” tall. The small quartz clock measures approximately 1-3/8” in diameter. Together the desk set, inside the yellow factory cardboard box, weighs approximately 11.0 ounces by itself. Refer to description photos #17, #18, #19, #20, #21, #22 and #23 to confirm the weight and size dimensions I describe.
As previously stated, the desk/clock set feature CUSTOM LASER ENGRAVED graphics. The noted engraved embellishments are located and appear as described below.
Wood Base:
On the top of the base, located in the lower right corner, there is a deeply engraved image of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office 7-point uniform badge and the name “Sheriff Tommy Thomas” immediately below. Refer to description photos #1, #2, #3, #6, #13 and #15 to confirm the noted engravings and for more details about what I have described.
Wood Twist-Barrel Ink Pen:
Located on the top half of the barrel, along side the gold tone shirt pocket clip, is the name “Sheriff Tommy Thomas” is again deeply engraved into the wood. Refer to description photos #1, #2, #3, #6, #13 and #14 to confirm the noted engravings and for more details about what I have described.
The ink pen is currently loaded with a BLUE ink cartridge and writes smoothly as illustrated in description photo #16. Refer to the description photos for more details about what I have described.
As depicted in description photos #7, #8 and #9, the underside “bottom” of the wood base is precisely custom routed to fit the wood clock stand for neat and secure storage. The quartz clock comes with (5) five BRAND NEW replacement batteries with 1 of the 5 already isntalled as previously described. The quarts movement operates on a single small button battery. The size of the battery is clearly identified on the top “positive” side and reads “SR626SW”. Refer to description photo #12 to confirm the battery size I described. The wood clock stand simply rests inside the routed oblong groove as can be confirmed in description photos #1, #2, #3, #4, #5 and #6.
This is a great looking functional piece that any Harris County Sheriff’s Office and/or Texas law enforcement memorabilia collector would appreciate acquiring for the collection and/or display.
