This is HERMES 2000. It doesn't seem to be related to the fashion brand HERMES.\
This is a Swiss-made typewriter by PAILLARD. It features a QWERTYZ layout, a German specification, and can type not only English but also some German and French. Based on the serial number, it is believed to be from around 1956.
The typewriter had malfunctions due to age-related deterioration and missing parts, so we disassembled it as much as possible and repaired the problems. We also cleaned off rust and dirt, applied lubricant, and maintained it so that it could type.
While there are signs of use such as rust, scratches, and dirt that cannot be completely removed, a rust inhibitor has been applied to prevent further rusting and damage, ensuring long-term use.
The rubber base material had deteriorated, so a commercially available new replacement part has been installed.
The typing tension adjustment is not functioning due to a missing part. However, there are no problems with normal typing.
The typing completion sound (a "ding") also works.
The ink ribbon is brand new and has been rewound onto the original metal spool. The print quality appears to be good. Please check the images for print quality.
The original has been given a custom color scheme.
The frame and spacebar have been painted in a pop style of dark green and moss green. There are some color inconsistencies, as well as minor scratches and dirt from the assembly process after painting, but I think it gives it a unique look.
The hard case has been repaired for major damage such as peeling. There was a tear in the inner fabric, so cushioning material has been added and synthetic leather has been attached to repair it. Protective wax has been applied to the entire case to prevent further deterioration, but there are still signs of use such as dirt and scratches that could not be removed by cleaning.
The original English instruction manual, warranty card, and brush are included. Please enjoy the atmosphere, even if it's just for the experience.
This item is in working order, but as it is an older model, there may be some defects due to age-related deterioration. Please understand this before purchasing.
