There are some small scratches and discolorization on the blade and handle, the results of normal use, but function is in no way affected. The knife is heavy, well balanced and has a comfortable wood handle. Made in the USA, this is a quality tool, an addition to any kitchen. The knife is very sharp; the blade will be taped for shipping to protect the edge.
