The Sleeping Beauty Fairy Tales ~ Edmund Dulac ~ 1909 1st Ed Publishers Copy

Publisher's copy of the 1st Trade Edition (ND, circa 1909). Please note, this publishers copy features binding errors, is incomplete, and was kept in the Hodder and Staughton archives (see stamp.) This copy is missing pages 17-24 yet pages 25 to 32 are duplicated. This is the first trade edition, published by Hodder & Stoughton, London. The decorated boards are in good condition, gilt is bright, but there is a dent in the front board, edge wear and a small cloth tear at the head of the spine. The binding is firm and the end papers are holding firmly too although some signatures are slightly separating at the gutter. The pages are in very good condition with little in the way of foxing. All plates for the relevant pages are present. A very unusual copy of this popular book which might appeal to a Dulac completionism. Please see photos for condition. Quarto. Total weight: 1483g
