Vintage Iittala Flat Clear Glass Vase designed/signed by Markku Salo.

From the 1990’s, this Iittaa Markku Sala Aava vase is a stunning piece of Finnish art glass designed by Markku Salo. From the Aava series and with the etched mark of the artist Markku Salo this exquisite Modernist grey transparent glass oblong vase comes from Iitala of Finland.

 Here are some key features:

• ·       Shape: The vase has a unique, flat, oval shape with an angled rim. When viewed from the side, it appears almost flat, but from the front, it looks circular. It has a flat bottom on which the vase rests and an asymmetrical slanted opening.
• ·       Material: Clear glass, giving it a sleek and modern experience.
• ·       Size: 10.75” by 6” x 3”.
• ·       Design: Simple yet elegant making it perfect for displaying flowers with long, flexible stems (Think: Anthuriums or tiger lilies).
• ·       Signature: Markku Salo’s name is found on the bottom giving it a personal touch.

This vase is not only beautiful but also functional. It’s unique shape can hold long flower stems. It’s a wonderful piece for adding modern elegance to any space.

It is in excellent usable or collectible condition. It could use a light cleaning due to some small water spotting (maybe Efferdent and hot water?). There is a small flea-bite chip or two on the inner rim of the piece.

There are also minimal surface scratches on the bottom of the piece.
