Light Gray Danitrio rollerpoint pen with gift box. Classic, sleek, hefty (1990s)
Before Danitrio produced their famous Danitrio Maki-e Japanese laquerware pen collection, they made simpler pens. This is one of them. They are not as ornate as the pens that made Danitrio famous, but they are just as scarce and hard to find. This pen is circa 1995 (approximately).
This pen accepts standard refills, so it's writing style can be adapted to your preferences. It makes a great corporate gift, or a great starter pen for a beginner enthusiast, or it can be a personal treasure.
I authenticated the pen after speaking with the Bernard Lyn, the founder and owner of Danitrio. In the 1970s, Danitrio began by producing high-quality corporate style pens before changing focus in the 1990s to develop high-end Japanese Urushi and Maki-e art pens.
