OUR PRICE FOR THIS POSTER IS $349   We are delighted to offer JUSTICIA (JUSTICE), a gorgeous, original, hand-signed limited edition Mexican screen-printed poster designed in 2013 to memorialize the 45 rural, indigenous Mexican people who were murdered in 1997 in a Roman Catholic church in the largely Mayan state of Chiapas. The victims were members of the activist group Las Abejas (The Bees), which supports the Zapatista Army of National Liberation ("the Zapatistas"), a militant socialist organization that has fought the Mexican government to win greater autonomy (and rights) for Chiapas's indigenous peoples.

This hard-to-find poster was designed in 2013 by well-respected Mexican City-based designer SANTIAGO ARMENGOD (he signs his artwork CORDYCEPS), whose work can be found in prestigious collections such as Stanford University's in California and Wellesley College's in Massachusetts. The poster -- screen-printed on heavyweight acid-free art paper -- shows a Mayan activist yelling JUSTICIA (JUSTICE) into a megaphone in the rural village of Acteal, where the massacre occurred in a small church. The 45 victims included four pregnant women. In a nod to the name of the activist group, Armengod drew a ring of abejas -- bees -- around the Mayan man in the poster.

Only 99 examples of this poster exist. The poster measures approximately 20 by 28 inches (50 x 72 cm).
