This is a very scarce piece of history minted between 38 and 39 AD in Cidrama, Caria. This is a genuine coin of CaligulaI, struck in bronze, and in the exact condition you see pictured. It features a portrait of Caligula with date on the obverse and the dioscuri with legend on the reverse. Caligula became emperor after the death of Tiberius. He was a very colorful character in history who was initially loved by the people. However, his madness and deviant behavior made him an unpopular figure who was assassinated by his own Praetorian Guard. This coin is guaranteed to be authentic. Grading is subjective.
