All steering gearboxes and rack & pinion assemblies receive new seals, bearings (if applicable), a thorough cleaning and inspection, and any port threads for the power steering lines are inspected and chased to ensure a reliable seal. Rack & pinion assemblies get all new rubber boots, clamps and subframe mounting bushings. Inner tie rod ends and internal shafts & gears are inspected, cleaned, and either machined or replaced as needed.  All our steering components are backed by an unbeatable warranty. Beware of suspiciously cheap sellers who just clean the item and ship it back out; don’t cut corners with your safety! This gearbox bolts in just like OEM, but has different internal gears to provide a faster steering response. 2.5 turns lock to lock, versus 4.0LTL for the original gearbox. Fits 1971-73 Ford Mustang, 1973-75 Torino, 1972-79 Ranchero, 1977-79 Thunderbird and 1975 Mercury Montego. Only fits models with the Saginaw-designed gearbox with 4-bolt cover plate; does NOT fit models with the Ford-designed gearbox!
