This 30 round magazine pouch was manufactured by J.Q.M.D. (Jeffersonville Quarter Master Depot) in 1950. These pouches typically featured a double compartment in the front and two compartments in the rear. While the pouch was originally designed to hold four (4) 30 round magazines, its specific design had led to varying interpretations. Even though it was designed to hold four (4) 30 round magazines, these pouches can sometimes be difficult to close when holding four (4) magazines. Experts speculate that the original intent was actually for storing two (2) 30 round magazines in the back and the front was used for storing stripper clips and ammunition rather than full magazines. The condition of these pouches is excellent to virtually new.
