The Akai AP-D2 Direct Drive Turntable is a vintage vinyl record player that is working with its original box. This silver turntable, made in Japan in the 1980s, features a direct drive system and speed settings of 45RPM and 33.3RPM. With audio outputs of stereo L/R RCA, this Akai model has a compact size with dimensions of 17" in length, 13" in width, and 2" in height (without the dust cover on). Perfect for audiophiles looking to experience their favorite vinyl records with a classic and reliable turntable. Original box included with free shipping. Everyone of these models have the needle as the power button. Basically you plug it in and press buttons and nothing works but as soon as you pick up the needle and move it towards the record pad the turntable starts to spin and the green light comes on everytime. The needle is the power button on this model you will get no response or reaction when plugged in until you pick up the needle and move it towards the record player. So maybe 🤔 some who may have a so called non-working model may have a working model considering the needle activated power. I didn't think this worked until picking up the needle then it activated every single time and the turntable started spinning and the green light comes on with no problem. So this model is basically a needle activated power system that powers on when you pick up the needle and direct it to the turntable.
