Parker IMAI K-636 Hollow Handle Survival Knife

This is an amazing, VINTAGE 1979, Hollow-Handle Survival Knife by the famous Parker-IMAI conglomerate. I personally purchased this from Sharon Steel Company while working as an intern in 1979.

It features a hidden tang, and long blade. These were made in Japan for Parker Frost by the Seizo Imai company.

It features a 7” serrated blade with a 12 ¼” overall length.

This blade tang is marked “Parker - IMAI Stainless Steel” over the image of an eagle and “K-636 MADE IN JAPAN.

It comes with its’ original sewn brown leather sheath – which shows some age and staining but remarkably no separations. This knife lived under the trunk platform of my various cars in case I needed to ward off villains or other miscreants while stopped on the highway.

There is no rust on the blade and it probably retains the factory edge but dulled by the years.

The hollow black-metal handle is in good shape. I guess you could store matches or a roll of Benjamins inside. I don’t remember any original accessories (or Benjamins).

There’s a bit of a waxy material on the cross-guard which was probably factory original and some paint chipping also.

The knurled screw-top is showing some rusty spots.

If you want a great, rare knife and a piece of cutlery history – start here. What you do with it is up to you.

Does this sound like something you'd want? If so, get on this!

I’d rate excellent for its age! I will leave cleaning, sharpening and restoration to the new owner.
