For sale is a postcard titled “Allies Entering Jerusalem, 11th December 1917,” depicting General Edmund Allenby’s ceremonial entry into Jerusalem following the British capture of the city from the Ottoman Empire during the First World War.
The image carries the printed credit “McBey,” referring to James McBey, the official British war artist who documented the Palestine Campaign in 1917–1918.
