Available is a rare sports page that came from a June 7, 1908 Sunday edition of a Washington D.C. Evening Star newspaper. The page contains a rare team photo of the United States Treasury Baseball Team. On the backside of the page is a small headline with story announcing that Ty Cobb was warned by police to stop fighting. This stemmed from an incident where the Detroit baseball club was leaving the hotel for the ballpark when an African-American employed by the city pushed his way through the crowd that surrounded the ball players bus and shouted a name at Cobb that did not like. Quick as a flash Cobb jumped from the bus and waded into the African-American, landing a stinging blow.

Condition

I primarily rely on using multiple listing pictures to show each item's condition. Vintage newspaper quality varies with age and how it was produced. Most vintage newspapers are susceptible to chipping and paper loss on the edges. If handled and stored properly, vintage newspapers will last for years. Please review all the listing photos closely using eBay's enlargement tools to assess condition.

Domestic Shipping

The page will be placed in a clear plastic sleeve and gently rolled and inserted into a sturdy cardboard tube. I use USPS Ground Advantage as my primary shipping method unless other methods of shipping are requested.

Multiple Purchases and Combined Shipping

I do combine shipping. If you purchase multiple items from my "Buy It Now" inventory, please add each item to your cart on the listing home page. When your are finished, check out and pay for your items.

If you win multiple auctions, please don't pay for each item individually. I will send you an invoice with a combined shipping amount for all of your auction wins once they are completed.
