International Watch Company Ref: 4405-2230 18K Gold Vintage 21mm Ladies Automatic Cocktail Watch.

This is a beautiful and well-kept example of an early 1970’s IWC ladies watch.

The case is marked to the rear of the lug with the Swiss hallmarking Head of Helvetia (ringed in blue on photo), which has partially rubbed off during previous process of polishing. In-between the lugs it has the 750 marking for 18ct. Unfortunately, this is only visible by removing the strap.

The case measures 21mm x 21mm, with a 26mm lug-to-lug measurement.

This watch was last serviced circa 2009/2010. It has not been worn since and is in good working order.

Dial:

The dial is original and is in very good condition. It has a champagne tone with brushed sunburst finish radiating from the centre. It has applied baton hour markers with black painted centre. The signing is clear and there are no visible signs of ageing.

 Hands:

The hands are original and in very good condition. They are black painted, with gold centre. There are no obvious signs of ageing.

 Glass:

The acrylic crystal is original and is in good condition.

 Crown:

Original crown with coin edge finish and fish emblem on top.

 Case:

The case is 18ct yellow gold and is in good condition. The sides of the case are polished, as is the case back.

 Caseback:

The 18ct yellow gold case back is screw on and is in good condition. It has a polished finish to the outside, with a brushed face. The serial number is has in parts rubbed off during previous process of polishing. There are some light surface scratches which are visible using a magnifying glass or zooming in on photos.

 Strap:

The watch comes on a genuine leather strap, which is non IWC. It has a gold plated pin/buckle.

 Movement:

The movement is an IWC automatic calibre. It has a jewel count of 23, with a frequency of 19,800 BPH. It has shock protection.
