This is a rare and exquisite Somdej Wat Rakang amulet in the “Ket Bua Toom” mold, named after its distinctive lotus-bud-shaped topknot on the Buddha image. Created and consecrated by Somdej Phra Buddhacarya (Toh Prommarangsi) in Mid-late 19th century (circa 1850-1870). The piece is beautifully lacquered and gilded with gold leaf, a traditional preservation and veneration method in Thai Buddhist art. (Mold Type: “Ket Bua Toom”, features a tightly contoured topknot resembling a closed lotus bud) This type of amulet is considered exceptionally rare, especially when still retaining original lacquer and gold, which adds both historical and spiritual value.
