Original 1933 Thomas A. Edison, Incorporated $1 “Bank Holiday” / Depression-era scrip note issued in West Orange, New Jersey on March 6, 1933. These emergency notes were created during the nationwide bank shutdown and were intended as a temporary substitute for cash, payable after the bank holiday ended.
