Anthem’s MRX 710 is a 7.1-channel A/V receiver with high-current amplification, HDMI-centric connectivity, and Anthem Room Correction (ARC), aimed at audiophile / home theater use.
This unit was in our second bedroom and was rarely used. It's in excellent cosmetic and working condition. It comes in the original retail box with all the accessories included when brand new.
Core audio platform- 7.1-channel surround receiver design with discrete amplification.
- Rated around 120 W per channel with two channels driven into 8 ohms, and about 90 W per channel with five channels driven.
- Advanced Load Monitoring and internal fan-based cooling to protect the amplifier under low-impedance, high-volume conditions.
- 24‑bit / 192 kHz A/D conversion and support for codecs such as Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS, DTS‑HD Master Audio, and DTS‑HD High Resolution Audio.
Video and HDMI features- Eight HDMI 1.4a inputs (seven rear, one front) and two HDMI 1.4a outputs.
- 4K upscaling and 4K passthrough, plus 3D video support to handle ultra-high-definition video signals without degradation.
- Both HDMI outputs support Audio Return Channel (ARC) so TV audio can return via HDMI without extra cabling.
- Faster HDMI switching compared with the previous generation, using an Analog Devices ADV8003 video processor with Anthem-custom software.
Anthem Room Correction (ARC)- Anthem Room Correction (ARC) measures your room and applies digital EQ to optimize speaker and subwoofer response.
- Support for standard surround modes (e.g., Dolby, DTS variants)
- Applies EQ to all 7 channels plus subwoofer, adjusting levels, crossovers (in 10 Hz increments from 40 Hz), and response curves up to 5 kHz.
- Targets both peaks and dips for natural sound, correcting bass issues, midrange clarity, and dialog intelligibility without over-brightening.
- Retains speaker character while removing room flaws like standing waves.
Connectivity and I/O options- Analog audio: about five sets of stereo RCA analog inputs.
- Digital audio: roughly five digital inputs (typically 2 coaxial, 3 optical).
- Video: two component video inputs and one composite video input; analog video outputs are omitted.
- 7.1-channel pre‑outs to feed external power amplifiers for all channels.
- AM/FM tuner and support for 2‑zone operation, with extra amp channels assignable to Zone 2 if surround‑back channels are unused.
- IP and RS‑232 control capability and firmware updates via USB
User interface and configuration options- Up to 20 virtual input configurations, each assignable with its own audio/video source and settings.
- Larger, easier-to-read on‑screen menus with improved status graphics compared with the original MRX series.
- Front panel: metal faceplate with central buttons for setup, dimmer, mode, level, zone, and input, plus a volume knob and front HDMI and headphone jack.
- Support for remote control apps for iOS and Android, along with standard IR remote operation.
