1st edition, 1st state in original blue cloth. 648pp. Includes 1st state mis-spelling of 'help' instead of 'helped' on p257.  Boards have are rubbed with some marks/ scuffs, gilt faded and some edge wear to cloth. Rear joint is separating. Binding is mostly firm, no loose pages, and pages are overall good, some occasional small marks. Half title and title page as well as last page look to have been reinserted, possibly previously loose. This copy does not contained adverts to the rear which some other copies but not all contained.
