BRAND NEW FACTORY SEALED IN A RETAIL BOX
WINDOWS: XP, ME, 2000, 98
The original Laser Squad Nemesis is a sequel to 1989's Laser Squad, a squad-based strategy game that also served as a prototype for the away missions in Microprose's classic X-Com: UFO Defense. Published by Got Game Entertainment, this 2005 retail version of Codo Games' 2002 play-by-e-mail multiplayer competition comes with a three-month subscription to the game's online content, as well as 20 new single-player missions, in four different campaigns.
The game has players controlling the forces of a futuristic, space-faring race. After selecting a squad of units, the team is deployed on the battlefield and commands are issued by turns.
Environments are almost completely deformable, allowing player's units to destroy trees, lampposts, doors, and walls. Once both sides have completed a turn, the results are calculated and the outcome is displayed via a short, real-time battle sequences in which players can watch their squad engage the enemy.
