The function of the upstream oxygen sensor is to detect the oxygen content in the exhaust gas. It is installed behind the exhaust manifold and in front of the three-way catalyst, mainly used to detect the oxygen content in the exhaust gas after the combustion of the engine mixture, and feedback the data to the ECU (engine control computer).

The downstream oxygen sensor is installed behind the three-way catalyst and is mainly used to monitor the oxygen concentration of organic waste gas purified by the three-way catalyst.

Installation: 
1️⃣ Locate the oxygen sensor position and remove it with socket, 
2️⃣ Compare the new sensor to the old sensor to ensure a proper installation, 
3️⃣ Please clean the threaded port to en sure a proper seal of the new sensor,
4️⃣ Gently tighten the sensor in order to keep wire free from damage and avoid sensor leakage, 
5️⃣ Reinstail the connecor,try to clear it if the car has diagnostic trouble codes.
