A beautiful vintage Chinese Jui Quan Jade luminous Wine Sake or Rice Wine boxed set. The set consists of a warming pot, 6 stemmed wine glasses and four tumbler shaped glasses. The warming pot and all the glasses are in very good condition except for one tumbler shaped glass that has a repaired chip in it (please see last photograph). The warming pot is beautifully decorated with carved branches with flowers on the sides and as the handle for the lid. The warming pot is 9cm (3.5“) tall, 18cm (7“) handle to spout and has a diameter of 11.5cm(4.5“) . The six stemmed wine glasses are 8cm (3.1“) tall and the four tumbler glasses are 4cm (1.6“) tall. The set is presented in a wooden box. This is a rarer set as it contains both glasses and the warming pot. There is unfortunately some damage to the box, this has been repaired. The set is made of Spinach Jade found in the Qilian Mountains located in the Gansu Province of China and although it looks quiet fragile and is almost see through when held up to light, it is very hard and can tolerate changes in temperature very well. The set is used to serve Rice Wine or Japanese Sake both of which are sometimes warmed before serving to release the bouquet of the wine. The glasses are called Luminous glasses as they sparkle when filled with alcohol and placed under the moonlight.
