LOYS LUCHA
A beautiful French 1930 art deco chandelier in nickel plated solid brass or bronze holding an octagonal bowl by Loys Lucha. Being the glass manufactory of Louis Joseph Chaffard-Luçon (1880-1951). Based in Paris Boulogne-sur-Seine this company was specialized in cloisonné enameled shades in art deco style. In French art deco lighting we can only find a similar high quality enameled glass by Maxonade Aurys and the Daum related company Leune in Nancy. Around 1930 Chaffard moved to 31 rue Fernand Pelloutier in Boulogne-billancourt. The cloisonné enamels are placed on the inside of the shade. And it is glossy on the outside.
The bowl is signed Loys Lucha. It is represented in the 1931 Lucha catalog. This decoration was named Bianca. The fixture has a total drop of 46 cm and a diameter of 48 cm. The octagon measures 48 x 43,5 cm. It is in very good condition. I have re-nickeled and patinated the mount. And it comes newly wired. The fixture holds a US standard base socket. For Europe I will place a E27 one.
